In April of 1986, Lilly’s Fresh Pasta opened its doors.

Once local chefs tasted Lilly’s signature pasta and creative ravioli, the response was overwhelmingly positive – the orders began flowing in.

The beginning was still full of hardships, the family’s struggles compounded when Giovanni sadly passed away in 1991. Suddenly a single mother and sole proprietor, Lilly kept her nose to the grindstone at yet another time when most would have given up; she continued to amass customers with her truly excellent pasta, creative recipes, and a willingness to collaborate with chefs for specialty dishes (a unique business model we still honor). Soon, Lilly’s Fresh Pasta grew into Boston’s most beloved pasta manufacturer.

For three decades now, Lilly’s has been the go-to supplier for restaurants in the North End (Boston’s mecca of Italian cuisine and culture). Since 2010, Lilly’s son, Antonio D’Alelio has been leading the business as they’ve expanded across 42 States. They continue to grow with a clear vision and mission to be Americas #1 Choice for premium Quality Fresh pasta and ravioli products. To this day, Lilly’s refuses to cheapen their products with inferior ingredients or manufacturing shortcuts, holding every batch to the same quality standards that have characterized Lilly’s for decades.

Job Overview

The Distribution Executive’s primary goal is to drive sales while optimizing relationships and connections to increase market share. This position will work closely with the organization's Sales leadership team to establish the goals for the day/week/month/year and often acts as a client interface and problem solver.

The Distribution Executive is the owner of the Mid-Atlantic Region and can live in Baltimore, DC or Virginia. The seat owns the pipeline, the distributor relationships, the boil and demo cadence, the close, the CRM, and the relationships that decide whether Lilly’s pasta is on the menus and in the operators of the territory. The seat is not a coordinator of activity — the seat is the engine of the territory. This role is for someone who is looking for more than a job, but for a place to really make a difference by grinding every day to help make this family business a national name.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales through proactive, outbound activity to potential foodservice customers within the assigned region
• Work effectively with distributor teams to develop target lists and secure appointments
• Regularly visit all foodservice accounts independently and/or with Broker/Distributor reps
• Present brand story and perform tastings and samplings with decision makers for all new leads
• Follow up on leads and tastings with written proposals and phone calls
• Attend foodservice trade shows & industry events to drive the awareness and growth of the brand
• Work with brokers /distributors to train staff at existing accounts to enhance knowledge of Lilly’s existing products and new innovations
• Provide information and tools to distributors to assist in selling Lilly’s Products (ex: price lists, product description sheets and sales collateral, new product information)
• Sourcing and onboarding of new distributor partnerships
• Lead the distributors sales teams to increase their volume by coaching them
• Conduct monthly performance evaluations with distributors
• Meet monthly KPIs and revenue goals
• Meet with Regional Growth Director for bi-weekly one-on-one meetings
• Track all activity in CRM Software daily

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sales (5+ years) and ability to deliver sales presentations
• Willingness to travel 4 days out of every week
• Knowledge of working with distributors or brokers is preferred
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to multitask and complete work while traveling
• Thorough knowledge of territory, market, and clients
• Culinary Experience is beneficial

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to travel daily and spend most of the day in a vehicle
• Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at time
